Our first big storm!

We finally got our first big snow storm this last weekend. Tanner was beyond excited! He kept thanking Heavenly Father and Jesus for making it snow. He loved helping us shovel the drive way, but I think he had the most fun throwing the biggest snowballs he could fit in his hands at Scott and I.

Mason and Porter

While we were in California for Thanksgiving I had Mandy take some family photos for us for our Christmas cards. She snapped off a few shots of the boys before we left for our photo shoot. Enjoy these because this was the only time they were happy! Mason cried the whole time! Porter was content, but he wasn't about to give us a smile! Maybe that is why we haven't had our family pictures taken in so long!

Legoland

So instead of having a birthday party for Tanner at our house this year we decided to take him to Legoland since we were going to be in California for Thanksgiving. He loved it! His cousins Megan, Tyler and Ryan(and parents) came as well as Grandma Rogers, Aunt Mandy and Aunt Dani, so they all had a blast. It was a perfect day, although by the time we were leaving it was getting pretty chilly. I spent most of my time taking care of Mason and Porter, but all in all it was a fun day!

Hanging Christmas lights

So I had Scott hang our Christmas lights before we left for California for Thanksgiving, because I heard there were big storms moving in and I didn't think it would be too safe hanging lights in the snow and ice. Little did I know it wasn't going to be so safe anyway, at one point he had to practically hang upside down to attach the lights. In Arizona, a ladder was sufficient! Maybe I snapped the shot so that I would have one last memento of my husband! J/K--nice job hun!
As it turns out it was a good thing we got it done before Thanksgiving, because our yard and roof are now covered in snow!

Tanner's 5th birthday

Tanner insisted on helping me with this post and hand picked all of these pictures--good times!
He had a pretty quiet birthday, but I think he had fun. We let him choose what he wanted to eat and he decided on Pizza Factory, then we took him to Jumpin Jacks where he had a blast. Then we came home and opened presents and had cake and ice cream. He knew exactly what he wanted for his cake, a Transformer cake that was red, green and blue. He also was not about to let me make it without him so he pretty much made the cake and the frosting with a little coaching from me. He also had a hand in the frosting of the cake, until I distracted him with a spoon and the bowl of leftover frosting!
We didn't have a big party for him this year, because we are going to have a party at grandma's and take him to Legoland while we are in California for Thanksgiving.
Happy Birthday buddy--we love you!

Love those smiles!

I feel like I haven't taken a picture of the boys in a while so I decided to snap a few. Tanner joined in the quest to help me get Mason and Porter to smile, surprising it worked since they haven't slept ALL day!!! This no sleeping thing will come to an end eventually, right?!

Tanner's soccer season

Tanner had a blast playing soccer with his cousins in Payson this year. In fact he had more fun playing with his cousins than playing soccer. Until the last game and then something just clicked for him and he played as though he had been playing for years. Suddenly he got it and he knew exactly what to do and where to put the ball. He was on fire and made 3 goals, almost 5. After each goal he would come running over to us with a huge smile on his face and give us a big high five. He was so much fun to watch! It was sad that the season had to come to an end. I will be curious to see how long it takes him to catch on next year. Go Conquerers!

7 Random Things About Me

1. I'm not superstitious(I'm just a little stitious:)), but whenever I can I try to avoid stepping on a crack, and if a black cat happens to cross my path I freak out for 1/2 second before I pull it together and move on.

2. I'm not a huge fan of watching sports, I like to play, but watch, not so much. Until the year my husband convinced me to watch the Diamondbacks, after all we were living in Arizona. Well we went on to win the world series that year and I have been a huge fan ever since! GO D-BACKS!

3. Growing up, I never was a big dog lover. Then, I got married. Now, I have a big dog who loves to sleep in bed with me(that is a whole other story) and I can't imagine our lives without her!

4. I have hypoglycemia.

5. Currently I am raising a teenager, two 5 month olds and a 4 year old.

6. Minty things like gum and candy give me a headache.

7. My husband does the laundry because I am so bad at it! Thanks Scott, you are the best!

Funny story

So a few weeks back we were headed to Austin and Emily's for game night. Along the way we had to make a quick pit stop and Scott then decided to take a new route to get to their house. Well we ventured a little more than necessary and ended up riding alongside the cemetery. As we were driving by it Tanner asked what it was and Scott told him it was a cemetery to which he responded Ohh. Then Scott asked him if he knew what a cemetery was and he said no so Scott told him that that is the place you go when you die. There was a short silence from Tanner and then he asked, "Daddy, is that heaven?" I couldn't stop laughing. I love the thought process of little children. It is amazing how much they analyze things we don't even think twice about. Just thought I would share a funny moment. Thank goodness we have these mixed in with our crazy, hectic days!

Mason and Porter

I know this all seems so random, but I am still trying to get the hang of this whole blogging thing. Emily starting this blog for me late one night after I had gone to bed. I knew nothing of it until the next morning when there was no time for explaining or tutoring. I know most of you are thinking what needs to be explained, but I truly am a computer dummy! So anyway I am slowing learning the ropes and aspire to one day have blogs as nice as the rest of yours! Thanks for sharing your lives with us, we love to see what is happening with all of you.
Anywho I just wanted to post this picture of the boys in their blessing outfits. It was an amazing day filled with the spirit, family, friends and good food! It truly was a unique experience having the twins blessed and it was a day I will always cherish!

Tanner & Porter

Tanner has been such an amazing big brother, he loves to help out whenever he can, and of course his brothers adore him!

Mason

Our friends Austin and Emily came down to hang out and their daughter Paige wanted to share her doll with Mason. I suppose she thought it would make him happy--I guess she was right!

Tanner's cool hair

I convinced Tanner that no masks were aloud at preschool, so we got to do the cool Wolverine hair for his preschool party. However that didn't fly for trick-or-treating. I prefer the hair over the mask, but what are you going to do? He asked to sleep in his costume too, but that is where I drew the line. When I woke up this morning guess what he had on? How long is this going to last? I hope not until there are holes in the costume! Good times, good times!

The boys at the trunk-or-treat

Mason wasn't really in the Halloween spirit, and Porter just took it all in stride, but I think this was Tanner's best Halloween to date! Obviously Mason & Porter were 2 peas in a pod, but I have to tell you because my brother had no idea what they were. I don't remember what he came up with, but it was ridiculous! We didn't last too long at the trunk-or-treat because the boys hands were freezing. However we are fortunate enough to live right next door to grandma, so we came home laid the twins down for bed, took the monitor to grandma's and off we went with Tanner. It was a fun night, but now would someone please tell me what to do with all the candy!
Tanner just had to be Wolverine for Halloween this year, but he made it a point to tell everyone we came in contact with that his name was Tanner Scott Rogers Wolverine. Apparently not everyone in Utah does a trunk-or-treat like they do in Arizona, so this year we crashed another wards trunk-or-treat, then went home passed out a little candy and then did a little trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. We heard that there was a lady in Elk Ridge (not too far from us) that passes out beanie babies, so when we were done around the neighborhood we took a drive to her house. Tanner picked out a baboon--it was hysterical! The lady told us that she had already had around 1200 trick-or-treaters! How do you come up with that kind of estimation? After we went to her house we heard about one more "haunted" house that we had to go to. It was pretty awesome, although Tanner would disagree and wanted to make sure that we knew that he never wanted to go back to that house!
